The 20FT DEEP crew traveled to Guntersville, Alabama to uncover the reason why more professional bass anglers live around the 69,000 acre fishery located in north Alabama than any other lake in the country.

With a population of less than 12,000 people, the city of Guntersville is home to three Bassmaster Classic champions and a Forrest Wood Cup champion.   In total, close to a dozen current and former Elite Series and FLW Tour pros live around the lake.

Lake Guntersville has served as the playing field for some of professional bass fishing’s most historic and memorable moments, including Paul Elias’ 2011 FLW Tour victory where he introduced The Alabama Rig to the world, and Randy Howell’s come-from-behind victory in the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.

From candid interviews with professional anglers like Boyd Duckett, Chris Lane, and Randy Howell to discussions with local Guntersville legends, this documentary will explain what can only be called “The Guntersville Effect.”
