Florence,
AL- With the inception of the Corporate Cup, The BASS ZONE is getting an inside look at what is taking place on Pickwick this week. How are we doing this? Thanks to a corporate sponsorship by Toyota, The BASS ZONE’S Mark Jeffreys and Harold “The Legend” Allen are teamed with Elite Series pros Dave Wolak and Bobby Lane.

We had a chance to talk to the Toyota team members and here’s their thoughts about the team and what to expect during the upcoming days:
Dave Wolak
“Practice has been pretty good. I think that this lake is better that it has been for us in the past when we have been here. It’s a good time of the year, the fish are moving around, and I think that it’s very unpredictable who is going to win.”

“I think that we are a strong team overall. The Legend, Mark, Bobby, and I are all in sync and have been talking throughout the whole practice and that’s really important in a team event. I think we could just as well make a good showing in this as have a tough time but I think that is the way that it’s going to fish for everybody.”
“Mark and my styles definitely compliment each other. We talked about that yesterday during practice. We talked about how important it is in a team event that guys are in sync. I noticed that even in practice I had to tell him that it’s wide open. I don’t care if he throws in front of the boat because it’s a team event and what gaps or seams I miss he has a green light at everything.”
Bobby Lane
“Practice was good with Harold. I’ve never fished with
Harold before but I’ve always heard about his worm tactics and I learned a lot this week. I’m not a huge worm fisherman except for the spring a little bit but he showed me that they bite that thing year round. It was interesting to see where he threw it so I did learn a lot.”

“We really got along this week. We cracked up in the boat probably more than we did fish so I’m really looking forward to tomorrow, I think that it will be fun.”
“Both boats that make up our team are in the same area and we eliminated a lot of the lake and found a little area that has a few fish in it. If one team gets on them, the other team can go behind and finish up if they need a fish or two.”
“During practice, we split the water from one end of the lake to the next and covered a lot of water. I think that really helped our team because we eliminated a lot of water. We have the teams paired up perfect with Harold and me and Dave and Mark. I’m looking forward to it.”
Harold “The Legend” Allen
“This here is a really exciting deal. First of all, I worked really well with Bobby Lane this week. Bobby was Rookie Of the Year last year on the Elite Series and just really took the tournament year by storm.”
“It’s neat to watch different guys fish and be around them to see how they go about things and see what excites them, cranks them up, and gets them in a groove. Bobby and I fished in separate boats the first two days of practice mainly just to try our different styles. We came up with a good plan and also some backup water.”
“Yesterday, we fished together in the same boat and it was really neat. Bobby is full of fire and energy and I really like that. He’s excited and I like it when someone is cranked up and doesn’t want to quit.”
“Wolak, you can’t say enough about him. He’s a strong angler and has been strong for a lot of years. He brings a lot of experience and a lot of energy to this team, too. We got to watch these guys all year through The BASS ZONE, and now we are in the boat with them so it’s a neat deal. I’m excited, I really am.”
Mark Jeffreys
“First of all, I’m not really the guy you need to be talking with here because the three guys that I’m fishing with have a combined years of experience of around 100 I think. I’m very fortunate to be fishing with Dave. I fished with Dave at Lake Oneida and the one thing that is really cool is that we fish well together and he pointed that out yesterday.”
“I love fishing team tournaments and we are very compatible when it comes to the type of stuff that we are doing, so I’m excited about it. Yea, I get to hang out with The Legend one more week that I wasn’t planning on so I’m pretty pumped up about it.”
“I’ve probably seen these guys on the water more than anybody but I never thought that I’d get the opportunity to actually fish with them in a tournament like this. I want to say thanks to the people at Dynamic and Toyota for letting me and Harold do this because there’s no way we could have done it if it hadn’t been for their help.”
