Zapata,
TX. – – The BASS ZONE received word today from Elite Series pro Jon Bondy that his on the road roommate Paul Hirosky received a 1:30 AM central time call from Pennsylvania that his wife Andrea had gone into premature labor, and ended up delivering their son a month and a half early.
The BASS ZONE was able to contact Hirosky as he spent a frustrating morning of practice on Falcon Lake in Zapata, Tex.’ more than 1700 miles away from his wife and new son.

“Paul was delivered late last night, and I am just grateful that my wife’s family is home to give her support when I can’t be,” Hirosky said. “Paul weighed 3 pounds, 10 ounces and despite being small is doing well.” Hirosky said that his son was taken to Hamot Medical Center approximately an hour after delivery, as it is the nearest hospital with a neonatal ICU.
“They wanted to keep Andrea for 24 hours because the birth was by cesarean section, but she will be heading to Hamot as soon as she can to be with him,” Hirosky said. “The good news is that he is in good shape, and that he is able to breathe on his own; all he needs is to gain some weight and he will be able to go home.”
Hirosky said that he has spent a frustrating day on the water today after getting little sleep last night, but family is with her, and that gives him some comfort. “We were scheduled for a c-section on May 20, and I was really looking forward to it,” he said. “I am really disappointed that I am in Texas when he was born, but her family is there, and my parents are returning from Florida, so I know they will be okay.”
While this is their first child together, Hirosky has a 9-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Ironically, Hirosky was at Falcon Lake and was not able to attend her birthday either; it was March 30, the day before her brother was born.
Congratulations to the Hirosky family for their new addition from BASS ZONE .com
