Roanoke, Va. – Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (NYSE: AAP) a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories, and maintenance items, announced changes to its 2008 pro staff today, welcoming Elite Series pro Greg Hackney to the team. As 2008 begins, Advance Auto Parts looks forward to a successful year with Hackney and fellow pro staff members, Marty Stone and John Crews.

“In keeping with our goal to become the preferred auto parts store of the bass fishing community and outdoor industry, we feel the addition of Greg [Hackney] strengthens the team and brings credibility to our brand.” said Samuel R. Hampton, Director of Marketing for Advance Auto Parts. “There is no disputing his performance on the water during the past several years. We are pleased to have him as a part of our 2008 team and look forward to a successful year with what we know is a strong and competitive pro staff.”

The 2008 Advance Auto Parts pro staff consisting of Hackney, Stone and Crews is also looking forward to the season ahead. Pleased to have Advance as his new primary sponsor, Hackney agrees it is a unique and exciting partnership.

“It is truly a blessing to be involved with Advance Auto Parts,” Hackney said. “I feel like I’m where I need to be and with a company I can really grow with. Advance Auto Parts is a totally new sponsorship for me, and I believe it suits me well; not to mention the new camouflage look they’ve given me suits me better than any I’ve had in the past. It fits my personality.

“It’s a great partnership, and it works well because I was using Advance long before I was sponsored by them,” Hackney added. “Advance takes care of everything from my truck to my tractor.”

Much like 2007, Advance Auto Parts’ sponsorship will continue with a strong presence at the Bassmaster Classic and lakeside at each regular season Elite Series tournament. In addition, the main promotional focus this year will be a truck giveaway at the end of the tournament season.

“Last year’s tricked-out Tundra was a hit with fans and consumers across the country, so this year we’ve decided to give it to one of those loyal, deserving people,” Hampton said. “In 2007, Saundra Gill from Knoxville, Tenn., won the $10,000 Rig Your Truck sweepstakes, and this year fans can sign up at each tournament to win the truck we showcased around the country last year. We are looking forward to continuing to expand our presence in the industry and provide quality aftermarket parts and accessories to enhance the tow vehicles of bass fisherman.”

Stone and Crews agree with new teammate Hackney, acknowledging the importance of the distinctive partnership all three share with Advance Auto Parts.

“With the rising cost of gas prices, it is more important than ever to do what you can to make your personal vehicle last as long as possible and be as fuel efficient as possible,” Stone said. “I have been able to do just that with Advance Auto Parts. The employees are helpful, and they make it easy for me keep my vehicle in top condition.”

“They have helped me make my truck into a powerful and efficient towing machine,” Crews added. “Traveling as a professional angler puts miles of wear and tear on my truck. Advance Auto Parts’ know-how and expertise allows my rig to look good and helps me keep it maintained.”
