| With the bass fishing world already abuzz about the XCalibur Xr50 Rattle Bait (the bait Terry Scroggins used to win on Toho and Timmy Horton used to catch two fish with one cast during the Bassmaster Classic), XCalibur has added a bigger Rattle Bait to its
Hi-Tek Series of lures – the Xr75 ¾-ounce Rattle Bait. |

The new Xr75 offers the same precision-tuned vibration and ultra-loud rattle as the Xr50, along with the intricately etched finish, raised gillplates, 3-dimentional eyes and other features that distinguish all XCalibur Hi-Tek Series lures.
Weighing in at ¾-ounce, an Xr75 can be cast a country mile, and it’s large profile makes it ideal for early spring – when the big girls come out to play. Not surprisingly, folks are already in hot pursuit of the new ¾-ounce Rattle Baits around lakes like Guntersville, Sam Rayburn and Amistad, where bass grow to large and grass is in important part of the equation.
In fact, Edwin Evers relied heavily on an Xr75 Rattle Bait during the Bassmaster Elite Series opener on Lake Amistad two weeks ago. Evers, who finished eighth in the event, caught several of his largest fish on the new Rattle Bait.
The unique shape of the XCalibur Rattle Bait causes the bait to push an enormous amount of water as it moves through the water column, according to Terry Scroggins, and he contends that is one of things that really sets this bait apart from other lipless crankbaits.
Among the best ways to fish an Xr75 this time of year is to work it over submerged vegetation, allowing the bait to settle into the grass and then ripping it out. However, it’s also an outstanding lure to yo-yo down a rocky point or simply to cast and crank along a riprap bank, over a stump-covered flat or along the edge of a creek channel.
The Xr75 is currently available in four colors: Rayburn Red, Royal Shad, Chrome Blue and Chrome Black.
