Every vote receives a point value, with
25 points going to the number one angler and
two points for the 20th. Voting totals will then be posted in The BASS ZONE
the first week of every month
during the season.
The QPT Media Poll is unlike any other poll or ranking system in the bass fishing industry. While some ranking methods use a multi-year average, the QPT Media Poll will produce a,
number-one professional angler in the world
utilizing a voting system
comprised of bass fishing media veterans.,
The 2007 QPT Media Poll will
consists of veteran bass fishing
media experts, Jason Sealock, Louie Stout, Alan Clemons, Steve Price, John Neporadny, George Kramer,
Mike Zlotnicki, Rob Newell, Keith
Nighswonger, Mark Zona, and the
BASS ZONE's Brent Conway and Mark
Jeffreys.
The
Final 2007 QPT Media Poll is now posted.......Reese
Number One
2007 marked one of the best years
in the sport of bass fishing on
the FLW Tour and the Bassmaster
Elite Series. After the
final event of the year, BASS
Angler of the Year, Skeet Reese
was the overwhelming choice for
the number one position in the
Quantum Performance Tuned Media
Poll. There
are several amazing facts about Reese's season.
The stats from the eleven regular
season events, 5 top 6 finishes
with two being second place
finishes. Average finish,
15th. A second place finish
in the Classic and a 7th place
finish at the Memorial. Oh yes,
throw in a win at the Potomac and
Skeet's dream season is one of the
best performances in the sport. Here
as some comments about Reese's
2007 season: Steve
Price - "His consistency throughout the year and resulting AOY title make him the most deserving angler, by far. There is no question the BASS Angler of the Year title is the most difficult title to win in professional bass fishing; it takes 44 days of top-of-your-game fishing to win it, and as Kevin VanDam acknowledged, just one or two bad days out of the 44 can cost you the title." Louis
Stout - "The seasons of Jay Yelas and Kevin VanDam were good, but they can't compare with what Skeet accomplished this year. Let's not forget the man nearly won the Classic in addition to dominating AOY." Dan
O'Sullivan - "The best and most dominating season since the Fritts Blitz of 1993 and 1994. Captured the attention of the fishing world, and demanded it with impressive performances stacked on top of each other. Reese absolutely earned the
Angler of the Year trophy." Jason
Sealock - "A win, angler of the year and multiple top 10s are hard to argue
with anything. Skeet
deserves the title."
Veteran
outdoor writer Rob Newell was the
only media expert that voted
for VanDam. " Skeet had
a great year but KVD remains the
best in the sport." George
Kramer - "Only Skeet's hairdresser going on strike will keep him out of the limelight."
Congratulations
Skeet on an awesome year.
During the 2007 tour season, the twelve bass-fishing media representatives will take into account tournament performance, quality of the field, importance of the event and other intangibles that can not be reflected in an unknown equation.
